Creams
While injectables dominate the quest for youthfulness and beauty, there’s now a growing appreciation for subtle enhancements that prioritise skin tone and texture. Many people seek to refine their skin rather than alter their appearance. Forming good skincare regimens are the foundation to healthy glowing skin on which further treatments can be built. We would be happy to explore this further with you in our consultation.
photo rejuvenation
Broken blood vessels and brown marks on the face can arise from sun damage and rosacea and can feel unsightly. The Nordlys system uses specific wavelengths of light to target and treat brown marks, redness, and visible vessels. The treatment is non-invasive with minimal downtime and typically requires a series of sessions to achieve optimal results.
Ask our staff about our ‘Light and Bright’ treatment which can give your skin a revitalised glow by improving tone and texture of the skin with subtle tightening. It is a combination of intense pulsed light which removes unwanted brown marks and vessels, followed by the Frax 1940 laser which gives tiny bursts of energy to smooth the skin. The Frax 1940 alone or as above is also a great treatment for men who wish to improve their skin tone and texture without engaging in cosmetic procedures.
Hair removal
IPL treatment for reduction of unwanted hair. The intense pulse of light is absorbed by the brown colour of the hair bulb, which then heats up and is destroyed. Because the light only targets actively growing hair and hairs are all at different phases of the growth cycle, more than one treatment is required – usually four to six treatments.
Facial hair, backs, chest, armpits, bikini areas and legs, are all responsive to treatment and the darker the hair and the paler the skin, the better the response. So protect that skin from the sun!
Cosmetic Procedures
At our clinic, we prioritise your safety and well-being while offering the highest quality cosmetic procedures. In light of recent regulations by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), we are committed to complying with the new advertising guidelines that restrict health professionals from promoting specific procedures for cosmetic purposes. These changes ensure that all our treatments are discussed in a personalised consultation with our medical professionals, focusing on your unique needs and goals.
Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis is excessive underarm sweating. This condition is often both embarrassing and expensive with the excessive sweating often destroying clothes. It can be very successfully treated by small injections of Botox. The effect lasts almost six months but may be re-treated every four months. Treatment of hyperhidrosis has a Medicare rebate.
Iontophoresis
Whilst botox is effective for sweating of the armpits, it can be uncomfortable and costly for the palms or soles. Iontophoresis is a relatively pain-free and cost-effective treatment for these sites. Hands and/or feet are placed in a shallow bath of water or anti-sweating solution whilst a small electric current is applied Each treatment lasts 15 minutes and initially occur 3 times a week with gradually reduced frequency. Please inform us if you are pregnant or have any electrical device in the body.
Skin Surgery
We undertake surgery for skin cancers and perform simple excisions with primary closure, complex flaps and grafts, as required.
Daylight Photodynamic Therapy
This treatment involves the application of a cream and exposure to two hours of direct sunlight while the cream is on to reduce redness and scale resulting from sun damage.
Phototherapy
Phototherapy is the use of a machine emitting a narrow band of UVB light onto the skin to treat various skin conditions. Treatments are 2-3 times a week depending on the condition. Treatment times start at 30 seconds and increase incrementally for full treatment effect.
